The chronicle

June! It's the month, not the place

The noses return to Blaye...

Was it Juno, goddess of rebirth and fertility

who gave her name to the fourth month of the Roman calendar?

Or does June come from Junius Brutus,

founder of the Roman Republic?

With a goddess and a republic

It will be all right

The event just got bigger!

From June 13 to 18, for the third edition, the organizers are putting the whole town of Blaye in a state of art.

The 26 artists, spread across different locations and far from any convention, will offer you privileged moments of exchange and sharing. Let yourself be enchanted by the creative worlds and stories of our artists: painters, graffiti artists, mosaicists, photographers, sculptors, ceramists...

You can be sure of the wonderful smiles of our volunteers, who will accompany and guide you around the town.

In this friendly, energetic atmosphere, you'll also be able to pick up a delicious côtes de Blaye to liven up your visit or celebrate the acquisition of one of the 300 works of art presented for the occasion!

I'm honoured and delighted to be invited back by Galerie Guernieri to present my latest creations.

To find me, just come to the "Pavillon des allées marines", info point, in Blaye.

All over Blaye!

Tuesday June 13 to Sunday June 18

My workshop in Montargis

Harvesting strawberries in Montargis on a May day

Thanks to a particularly sunny week in May, insulation work on the 60 m2 roof is almost complete. Quite a step forward for the interior work!

Gutters are to be installed, as there were none before! The installation of a rainwater harvesting system seems so obvious.

I've chosen a 1000-liter overhead tank. It will be installed high up to provide gravity-fed water for the toilet, the two sinks (one for soil and the other for enamels) and also the garden, which is blooming and feeding me!

And to satisfy your desire to find out more about Montargis, here's a video from Loran Deutsch in his "À toute berzingue!" column.

And an artist : Philippe Desmonts

Gentle corrosion

His painting is a non-figurative pictorial expression, close to abstract expressionism, where the presence of matter is paramount.

More than the subject represented, it's the workmanship of the painted layer - a kind of heavily worked, striated, bruised skin - that is the focus of his painting.

No particular message emerges, just a few winks at current events or personal resurgences. His work suggests rather than describes.
